A Father to Us All
The creativity of God our Father is mind blowing. He is the God who has created this beautiful earth we live on. With mountains, deserts, oceans and plains, nature is so diverse. There are over 300,000 species of plant and nearly 1,400,000 animal species on earth! It also possible that over 100 billion unique people have lived on this planet. These are people with different DNA, fingerprints and personalities. Remember, you are completely unique and there will never be another one of you. God has done this over 100 billion times. How incredible.
These figures are amazing and they point back to God who is vastly creative and empathetic. In the middle of all our different lives and the various sufferings we all go through, there is God who can be a Father to all of those He created.
Never forget that God knew you before He formed you in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5) and He knew every detail that would make up your personality and your journey in this life. That makes God the one who can guide you through the struggles of this life and comfort you in the midst of all you will face.
The presence or absence of an earthly father can make a profound difference in a child’s life. If a father is affectionate, supportive and involved a child’s life he can contribute greatly to a child’s cognition, social development and self-esteem. When fathers are not present, scars can be left for generations and so many deep-rooted problems can be developed.
The role of a father is huge, but even earthly fathers that raise wonderful children are only shadows of our heavenly Father. His presence in our lives as our primary source of help and comfort is vital and immense. He loves us with a love that we will not find anywhere else.
In all our differences and diversity, God cares for all of us, guiding us when we do not know which way to go and comforting us in the sorrow and difficulties of life. As we celebrate our earthly fathers as Father’s Day approaches, let us not forget to appreciate and honour our amazing heavenly Father, who continues to pursue us and know us intimately.
